A&J Zimmerman Sterling Capstan Inkwell w/Swiss Clock & Agnew Family Armorial
An excellent 1921 A&J Zimmerman sterling silver capstan form inkwell, with a Swiss Clock set inside the lid. Chased on the top of the lid is an armorial with an eagle on cable and the family motto “Consilio Non Impetu”, according to our research, this crest belongs to the Scottish family Agnew, a very old family dating back to 1201.
Overall very good working condition, the clock winds and runs. A few minor dents around the rim of the base, but presents beautifully. Heavy and solid, weight 1248 grams all materials included. 7” diameter at the base. No visible repairs or issues.
