1858 Victorian Sterling Tray, Saunderson Family Crest
An excellent sidea-lobed tray, standing on three claw feet, and chased, beading the Saunderson family crest (Talbot passant sa. charged with a bezant) and motto at center (Je Suis Veillant). Hallmarked on reverse for Martin, Hall & Co, Sheffield, dated 1858. Additionally there is a small horseshoe chased center bottom, presumably for good luck, and above the hallmarks, a registration “kite” mark.
Tray measures 12.5” in diameter and weighs 909 grams.
