16th Century Illuminated Gregorian Neume
Rare museum quality manuscript, 16th century Spanish , single page, double sided, oversize vellum leaf (animal skin, probably goat) with a beautiful hand-painted polychrome illuminated letter "S". Hand-lettered lyrics and musical notation in black over red music staff.

Recto reads in Latin: "deus aeda sacerdotes sancti in censum", roughly translates to "God is at the mercy of the priests in the Holy census".
Verso reads in Latin: "est panis christi et prebe bite licias regi bus a lle luia", roughly translates to "Christ is the bread offered to the devoted".
